Two and Three Dimensional Ultrasound Assessment of Cesarean Section Scars in Pregnant Women with Previous One or Two Cesarean Section and Its Correlation to Intraoperative Findings

چکیده
The risk of uterine scar dehiscence and uterine rupture is inversely related to the lower uterine segment (LUS) thickness as measured by ultrasound. Three dimensional ultrasound can increase the reliability of ultrasound in prediction of scar dehiscence. Transvaginal three dimensional ultrasound measurement of the muscular layer thickness of the lower uterine segment seems to be the most reliable method for prediction of scar dehiscence. Cesarean section rate has been rising continuously over the last few decades. This rise has become a challenge to the obstetricians all over the world as many obstetric complications are getting more and more common due to increased percentage of obstetric population with preevious Cesarean sections including uterine rupture and abnormal placentation.

The Role of Three Dimensional Transvaginal Ultrasound in Detection of Intrauterine Device Displacement in Post Caesarean Section: A Case Report
Intrauterine Devices (IUDs) are used as an efficient and inexpensive method of contracep¬tion. Contraceptive efficacy depends on the intrauterine location of IUD and intrauterine displacement of the IUD leads to decreased contraceptive efficacy. Expulsion of IUD and its penetration into myometrium is one of the complications of IUD. In cases where IUDs are not detected by ultrasound method, in ...
متن کامل2D and 3D ultrasound assessment of cesarean section scars and its correlation to intraoperative findings
Objective: to investigate the accuracy of 2D and 3D ultrasound in measurement of Cesarean section (CS) scar thickness. Study design: A prospective observational study conducted on 75 pregnant women with previous 1 or 2 CS candidates for elective CS. Evaluation of LUS using 2D and 3D transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound is then correlated to scar integrity assessed intraoperatively. Result...
